Cubs' home since 1916. Wrigley Field became the Chicago Cubs' ballpark in 1916 when they played their first game there against the Cincinnati Reds, winning 7 to 6 in an exciting 11-inning match.

Built in 1914. The stadium first opened in 1914 as Weeghman Park for a team called the Chicago Whales, but that team only lasted until 1915 before disappearing.

Named after gum. In 1927, the field was renamed Wrigley Field after William Wrigley Jr., the man who owned the famous Wrigley's chewing gum company and bought the Cubs in 1921.

Holds thousands. Today, Wrigley Field can seat 41,649 people, making it a cozy home compared to many newer stadiums where fans feel the history and tradition around them.
