Cool Facts
Two products from one plant. Flax seeds are packed with nutrients that are super good for you, while the plant's tough fibers get spun into linen fabric for clothes and bedding. Farmers have figured out how to use almost the entire plant.
Where clothes come from. Linen, which feels cool and smooth on your skin, comes from flax fibers. People have been making linen from flax for thousands of years, and it's still one of the most popular natural fabrics today.
Grown in cool places. Flax grows best in temperate climates where it's not too hot, which is why you'll find big flax farms in places like Canada, Russia, and parts of Europe. It doesn't need a lot of water compared to many other crops.
Tiny seeds, big nutrition. Flax seeds contain omega-3 fatty acids and fiber that help keep your body healthy and strong. People sprinkle them on salads, mix them into smoothies, or grind them into flour for baking.
