Created wireless telegraph. Marconi invented a practical system that could send messages through radio waves across distances without needing wires or cables connecting the two places together.

Nobel Prize winner. In 1909, he shared the Nobel Prize in Physics with Ferdinand Braun for their amazing work developing wireless telegraphy that let people communicate in brand new ways.

Italian engineer. Born in Italy, Marconi was an electrical engineer who combined his knowledge of electricity with clever thinking to solve the problem of sending signals through the air.

Radio wave pioneer. He discovered how to use radio waves, invisible electromagnetic waves that travel through the air, to carry information from one place to another.
