Hadrosaurus

Duck-billed dino. Hadrosaurus had a flat, duck-like bill perfect for munching on plants. This unusual mouth shape helped it eat leaves and seeds that other dinosaurs couldn't reach.

Washed to sea. When Hadrosaurus died, its body got swept into ancient rivers and carried out to the ocean. Scientists found its fossils in these old river and seabed deposits, which tells us where it lived and died.

Jersey resident. Hadrosaurus lived in what is now New Jersey during the Late Cretaceous Period, roughly 83 to 78 million years ago. Back then, New Jersey looked nothing like it does today, with warm seas and swampy rivers.

First American dino. Hadrosaurus was one of the first dinosaurs ever discovered and named in North America, making it super important to paleontologists learning about dinosaur history.
