Master fish catcher. Ospreys dive from high in the sky and pluck fish right out of the water with their sharp talons. They can spot a fish from more than a mile away in the air.

Impressively huge. An osprey can stretch over 24 inches long with wings that span nearly 6 feet across, making it one of the largest hunting birds around.

Found everywhere. Unlike many birds, ospreys live on every continent except Antarctica, hunting in rivers, lakes, and coastal areas all over the world.

Brown and grey. Ospreys have brown backs and wings with pale grey heads and bellies, which helps them blend in with the sky and water when they hunt.

Daytime hunters. Ospreys hunt during the day when they can see best, using their incredible eyesight to spot prey moving beneath the water's surface.
