Enormous watercourse. The Yukon River stretches for 3,190 kilometres (1,980 miles), making it a major river that drains an area bigger than the entire state of Texas.

Crosses two countries. The river starts in the mountains of British Columbia, Canada, then flows through Canada's Yukon territory before continuing westward into Alaska.

Powerful flow. Every second, the Yukon River pushes between 6,400 and 7,000 cubic metres of water downstream, which is like filling hundreds of swimming pools at once.

Flows to the sea. After its long journey, the Yukon River empties into the Bering Sea through the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta, where it meets the ocean.
