Goldilocks and the Three Bears

Started with an old woman. The very first version of this tale, from the 1800s, was about a rude old woman who broke into the bears' home, not a young girl. Over time, storytellers changed her into the kind, blonde-haired Goldilocks we know today.

Testing everything out. Goldilocks tries the bears' porridge, chairs, and beds to find which ones are just right for her. This is how the story teaches us about finding balance and what works best.

Three very different bears. The bears are all different sizes: papa bear with a big chair and hard porridge, mama bear with medium things, and baby bear with tiny everything. This helps show why Goldilocks likes some things better than others.

A speedy escape. When the bears catch Goldilocks in baby bear's bed, she jumps out the window and runs away into the forest, never to be seen again. The story doesn't say what happens to her after that.

An uninvited guest. Goldilocks breaks into someone else's home and uses their things without permission. The story has been loved for centuries because it shows what happens when someone is too curious and not respectful of others' belongings.
